gave my blaster a good beaten yesterday and noticed she started puffing white smoke, got her home let set for a while and checked the bubble and the level is lower than were it was. im thinking crank seals. what do you guys think? what is the best way to check the seals? what is required for the check? tools? gaskets? sorry to sound stupid but never had a blaster apart before

Don't worry about checking it, there is only two places for the oil to go, out the overflow or past the crank seal into the crankcase. Since you didn't mention it blowing out the overflow, just buy a seal and replace it. You will need some way to hold the clutch assy or an impact wrench to tear it down. A strap wrench should work to hold the clutch basket (there is also a special tool you could buy) or some people put a penny in the gears to keep them from turning. Once you get down to the seal, you can pop it out with a screwdriver.

You can do this with the motor in the frame, just take off the right footpeg first. Pay attention to how it comes apart, and do yourself a favor and read the manual first.

If you are mechanically inclined, this is about a 3 on a scale of 1-5. Just take your time.

Consider doing the left seal too. It is easier to get to, but you will need to buy a flywheel puller. ($15)
