CR 80 with 125 motor

Ok no pictures tell she is fully asembled and running.. hopefully next week.. and if you guys are extra good maybe a video or 2....

Well tourqed down the head to 18 pounds.. STARTED it up today finally 2nd kick and she was runing again.. waiting for rear sprocket to come back.. but this motor seems kinda odd when it runs. It's like it has to idle a lot higher like more rpms to kept it running.. just seems and sounds different from anything I have ever ridden

i want opions on this idea.. in blasterdudes blaster hybrid 370 mentioned to him doing a trike hybrid..

so i like this idea i want a trike but dont want to buy another quad or bike since race season is here soon i want to save my money for it.. and i want to ride this on the trails up north and its to muddy usally for dirtbikes.. but i also want to be able to ride it as a dirtbike on my track..

so give me some ideas for a front suspension setup and rear suspension setup??

thanks..... still working on intake and waiting for sprocket

scrap the last idea ^^^^.. and little update i got my intake almost done i need one more cooper street 45 degree pipe and attach my filter and weld it up and done.. oh and i used copper plumbing parts for it..

i talked to the lady at sprocket specialist and she said my sprocket i recived was perfect.. COMPLETE BULLISHT!!! i could put that thing on my milled table and it would woble side to side like no tomarrow and the stock one didnt wobble.. and so what do they do with the "perfect sprocket" they threw it out and said they were shipping me a new one.. trying to cover their ass me and my dad think.. but sprocket will be here next week.. and waiting on the throttle cable i order from wildard to show up middle of next week should be here

also next week when she is ready to go, ill be posting the final product pictures and hopefully a video for you all of it at least running and going up and down the road

got my sprocket back from sprocket sepcialists they paid for 2 day air from califorinia to MN and guess what the sprocket is a good one no more sprocket wooble... got my intake almost squared away, building a bracket so it mounts to the frame.. then just waiting on wildcard with my throttle cable then she is ready

DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!!!! (almost) haha but took it out for a ride today fired up 2nd kick and let it warm up.. pull the clutch in and push down on the shifter and stalled.. figures dinked with the clutch and the clutch is shot.. so got to buy one now.. but i got to ride for 2 minutes i pinned it and and flew... THIS THING IS A BEAST!!! im 85% sure im gonna be able to beat my friends rappy 700..... Pictures of final project tomarrow!!!

cant wait to see it,only thing is I remeber readding that these old school 125's dont have much more power then a modern day 85 2 stroke is that true or you did some work to this engine...GET the PICS UP tommrow hhahhaha i wanna see this bike

from wat iv heard about the old 82 is that it was the best RM 125 made up until they put the powervalves in them.. mine is only .50 pretty good for a 28 year old motor.. but from riding it today its way faster than a 85 its no sloutch in the power department i was doing wheelies well into 3rd gear with no problems..ill race a YZ 80 and maybe get a video after the snow thaws.. and then its time for the craptor... haha 2marrow for sure ill get some pictures i didnt paint the motor or frame how you see it is pretty much how i got it..

i know this is probly just a concern of mine since i am a plumber but........if you soldered the copper to put your intake together MAKE SURE ALL THE FLUX IS REMOVE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE PIPES! flux has an acid base to it which makes it nasty stuff.. this will lead to oxidation of the pipes inside your new "intake"..basically the insides of your copper pipes will begin to turn green, with the introduction of oxygen over a relativly short period of time. This will cause the insides of the pipes to weaken and flake off into you carb,reeds,motor...etc....boom detonation. just a thought IMO that should be looked into just so you dont trash your new toy.

Don't worry any more my dad is plumber has been for 30 years that was 1st think he said to do... I know hopefully tonight I forgot I had work

yes i do have one for ya blasterdude.. its a f*cking animal!!! it has so much top speed its gonna give that raptor a run for its money.. but it has the power to pull that little sprocket i have on it.. bad part kind of no wheelies it does littles ones but that sprocket is just to small for it.. it shacks to beat hell first test ride i tightened everything down flew down the highway easy quarter of a mile one way was only in 5th gear.. (it has 6) but came back to the garage since i didnt have water in the radiator didnt want to ride to long.. so go in to check all the bolts the front bolt that holds the aluminum brackets for the motor that was loosened up and all 4 bolts that hold the brackets to the frame were able to be spun out by my fingers 1 wouldnt have lasted another minute it was almost out.. just letting the thing idle is scary becasue you can see the motor just shacking in it trying to get out and if you put the kickstand down it will rattle off of it and fall over.. and sitting on it ideling your hands on the handelbars will make your hands go numb in about 5 minutes you can feel all the vibrations.. any suggestions to reduce the vibs?? other than ruber mounts for the motor.. (ill be doing that next year)

i got offered a cr 80 with a 125 swap last week aswell
looks like a pretty nice bike you have though, should be easier to through about with the same power
