Carb Overlow Tube/Crankase Vent

I recently purchased a 94 Banshee and found that the Carb overflow tube is routed and connected to the Crankcase Vent overflow. I rode it for a few hours before discovering this. Is this a problem? Also, I purchased a different Quad that had no tubing at all on the brass Carb Overflow. This Quad was ridden a few hours before discovering. Will this have caused any major issues (contamination)? From reading I am assuming that the carb overlow is routed downward with a small tube and the Crankcase vent overflow is routed out the front of the Quad. Is this correct?

Thanks for your help

yes thats correct and thats probably really bad having it connected to the crankcase vent. although the carb doesnt seem to flood much(thus not needing the overflow) you should be good. but i would change the tranny oil just in case. and put a hose on the case vent. i dont have a hose on my overflow, dont think it makes a difference.
