Can you run no chain roller?

I'm taking the blaster to the dyno Sunday. I have it ready but I found that the chain roller bearing is gone. I have one ordered but I don't think its going to make it here in time. Can I run on the dyno with no chain roller? Does anyone remove them permanently?

when I got mine it had no rollers, and I'm guessing it didn't for quite some time as there were 2 grooves worn on the post so that you could see the screw inside. I have seen before on a homemade logsplitter without any type of chain guide, the chains slack will tend together in one spot and travel around the gears. That thing scared the sheet outta me

I make my own rollers by cutting them out of Teflon food cutting boards.

Skate board wheels can be modified to fit.

move the chain to under the roller post, re-tighten to spec and go do your dyno run, it'll be fine
might even be worth a fraction of a HP without the drag of that roller :)

DONT RISK IT if the chain stretches of isnt tight enough and it comes off you could end up with this

chain jumped off and manged to grab orjust smash gear change shaft bearing and seal housing straight off, not worth the risk just to dyno it
