Would like to no what size of main jet I should get for my blaster it has a 230 in it now and I got a 280 I just bought and like to no how to do the jetting and I have a fmf pipe on it that's it on mods

nobody can tell you an exact jet to run, as each engine and location (altitude and temps) is different.

start at the bottom and work up..............

clean it while you have it off: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-clean-your-carbureutor.254/

set/check float height : http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/float-heights-and-how-to-adjust-them.50565/

adjust airscrew/pilot jet: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/adjusting-your-airscrew-pilot-jet.51060/

needle on middle clip position for 99% of stockish blasters.

just an FMF pipe could range from 260 to 300 main jet depending on altitude and temps.
plug chops are the best way to tell : http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-plug-chop.53237/
start large and work down for main jets

Thanks buddy that helps out how can I tell if I'm runing lean or rich this is really cool to get help thanks again got a 280 270 main jets will start with that I guess

How long did you hold WOT? color looks good but its not quite rich enough.

should hold WOT for 8-10 seconds and 25%-50% braking power. that will give you the best view of your jetting

What jet was in it for that chop? How long did you hold wot for?

You are still slightly lean. I would jump up 2 sizes and then see what you get from there.

WOT = wide open throttle. a proper plug chop should be 8-10 seconds.

now let me refer to Blaaster's second favorite post ;) (only jokes, he has been a great help to many)

Before you make the plug chop run it is important that the float level is correct, the idle is set correctly and there are no air leaks in the system, otherwise the smoke ring may lie about the AFR.

WHEN ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE CORRECT PROCEED WITH THE FOLLOWING.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride WOT through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch off the motor and pull in the clutch, apply brakes to come to a stop quickly.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

You have to get up a reasonable speed so that you can get the motor to pull strongly.

Then hold it Wide Open Throttle (WOT) for 10 secs or as long as you can.

The idea is not to get speed but to make it pull strong at full throttle to get onto the main jet circuit.

I find I can safely do it on a short run by applying the brakes some.

If you have not enough room you can use 4th or 5th gear with good results.
