I have a 240 blaster with fmf fatty and power core 2 silencer, boyesen power reeds and stock carb. I live in central Ohio and looking for a ball park on jetting. I have options and have tried a few but doesn't seem right so far. I currently have a 35 pilot, 370 main with needle on 3rd clip (ab lid off) takes several kicks to get it to start and seems like it floods out on idle but idles smooth for about 35-40 seconds before shutting off but only after its warmed up, doesn't stay idle when cold. Had a 32.5 pilot precision drilled .2 over with a 270 main on 3rd clip but seemed lean and when cold was getting occasional backfire. I have a 32.5, 32.5+.2 over and 35 pilot. 230, 270, 300, 310, 320, 330 and 370 mains to work with. Any help would be appreciated

Have you done a leak test to ensure there are no air leaks? Also check compression.

It should idle fine with the stock pilot with the air screw adjusted properly.

Which BBK so you have? Any porting? What air filter?
270 sounds small.
Have you thoroughly cleaned the carb? Set the float?
Any filled part throttle plug chop/read ? Results?
