So I bought this beaut over easter weekend. Although it was just delivered monday!

My dad and brother finally talked me into getting a bike and this was fairly priced.
The kid was nice and we had actually met a few years ago when I took a college tour. He was enrolled at the time. He seemed pretty anal about the bike, he was worried about the plastics being slightly scratched. I even got an extra set. I have the clamps for fat bars from him as well. He changed the oil almost every ride because they were few and far between he couldnt remember how long he ran the oil. Said about 1.5 year ago he rebuild top and bottom because it locked up on him in a race. And now he rides a 2012 yz125

As for now, I have no plans to do much. I ordered a throttle tube and cable because it had been sticking. I threw them on today and it turns out i need to order the other parts of the twist because they are bent.

We are trying to get it running better. Right now it is very cold blooded, at first we had to slightly hold the throttle to start it and idle, got the idle adjusted and it can idle warm all day. But cold starts are hard. Im not used to the long kick and i cant do it fast enough right now.

Havent even gotten to ride her yet. thats tomorrows plans

I had an 08 crf450 and it was similar when starting. I had to just barely touch the throttle to get it to start cold and give it a half minutes of slight revs and then it would idle perfect. Honda bikes are great. I had mine over a year and put it thru hell on the track (with a few hard wrecks too) and never had to do more than an oil change on it.

Boy she rips hard. Although I never know what gear I'm in. If I go the same speed and go from 3rd to 5th I can hardly hear a difference!

I will be getting a season pass to the local track. Might also bring the blaster for the fun of it haha

buying season pass to local track. they are allowing quads this year so imma rip wit the blaster too

i missed a few things in the track picture, but thats the jist of it. few more little jumps and some whoops etc.
much better than last year, brother said it was real crappy and i never looked at it. my dad said 100x better than last year

Moms get mad at everything though!! I think it looks pretty cool!
Are you just getting a solid stand or one thats a jack/stand?

i got a jack stand. honestly right now i have trouble throwing the bike on our brick haha. that will change though!

i dont have pictures but i have a nice rash on my left side. pain in my shoulder
and lets say my bars were pointing the wrong way!

last lap my friend tried to pass me on the whoops... i saw him go by without a bike. he was doing cartwheels!

dont worry though, as of now we are all home and able to walk. although tomorrow may be a different story...

My friend went to the doctor (or chiropractor he said?) they said it will be a few weeks before he can walk normal again

all my plastics are damaged. The shrouds were mint after i took the sticker off. both side scratched. front fender scratched. number plates and rear fender were scratched before, just more now.

I also broke the visor of my helmet in 3-5 places...
1) the adjustment spot to raise/lower it
2-3) both sides i cracked
4-5) some middle spots cracked

I took my soldering gun and melted grooves and then filled with a zipstrip i melted down haha. it works
i primed the visor black but will probably plastidip it red and do the rest of the helmet camo green/grey

Only had it a week and already breaking stuff lol!! Soldering zipstrips? A+ for creativity. How did the helmet look after you did that? I guess if you plan on plastidippin it won't look bad at all.

Was that the first time either of you had been to a track on bikes? They say its not a matter of "if" you wreck but rather "when" you wreck.

yeh i decided plasti dip to cover the seams better. i was going to sand it down but zip strips dont sand well!!

yes it was my first day on a track, and bike. my dad used to ride some mx when he was younger

what did you guys play real life twisted metal on the track
no, just a 25' table. needless to say i have never ridden a dirt bike above my brothers 85 haha. my dad 250 dont count, its a WR

Accident waiting to happen ...you should take a MX class .
they have classes? not here pal...

I forgot about where you now live. I think you should have got a 125 instead . Just learn how to ride a little each day . The smoother you ride the faster you will go.

well a 125 and 250 4 stroke are comparable. just 125 you run out of power really fast.
and tbh i got a pretty good deal on this bike so i cant complain :)

im just looking at what protection items i want to buy. i know i want boots, but not sure if i should get pants and jersey first...
my knees got knocked around on my gas tank so i want to fix that. pants and possible some knee pads

On a bike boots are the 1st thing to get to protect feet and ankles. Get pants that are padded inside and replaceable to protect youre thighs and knees too. Good luck

I think you've got enough experience with riding in general that you should be fine. The best way to learn is to get out and ride! Just have to learn you limits and know when its okay to start pushing them.

Boots are a must! As far as riding gear this is my opinion on whats the most important stuff 1) helmet and boots 2) Chest protector/neck brace 3) gloves 4) knee/elbow pads 5) Jersey/pants
Starts with the things that make me feel the safest or in the most control and works its way down.
