Crank seal issue...white smoke came back

Did a neighbor a favor and rebuilt his Blaster. After I got the top-end on the thing, discovered the clutch-side crank seal was bad. Replaced both crank seals, got the thing jetted where it would run good, and gave it back to the kid. Now he's complaining that after one day of riding, it's...

    I'm impressed

The neighbor's Blaster is pretty impressive now that it's together and running. I put about nine hours into porting the cylinder to MacDizzy's specs (1989 Blaster Rebuild). Third gear wheelies were no problem...these quads are awesome!

    1988 - 2002 Parking Brake Sensor

I need help with the parking brake sensor...how do you remove this without causing the rev limiter to kick in? The sensor is physically gone from the Blaster I'm working on, so I need to find the wires that went to it and jumper them together. Problem is I can't find the wires. I know there...

Parking Brake Sensor - 1996 Blaster

For those of you that are familiar with the Yamaha ATV Parking Brake Sensors... What wires do I need to disconnect/cut in order to disable the Parking Brake Sensor. The sensor is missing from the Blaster, and because of that, the engine won't rev past 1/4 throttle. I need a solution, please.

    Piston skirt question

What's up with the intake-side cut-aways at the bottom of the Blaster's piston skirt? The cut-away is much narrower than the intake port windows, so what's it for?

    stuck dowel pin

Anyone ever run across a chewed up dowel pin between the cylinder base and lower end? The neighbor kid has a Blaster getting a new top-end and his dowels need replaced, the only problem is they won't come out. F_cked up and stuck. I should probably put the propane torch on the aluminum and...

    120 Main on Stock Carb...WTF?!?

My neighbor's Blaster has a 120 Main Jet that appears to have been drilled out. I compared the size of the orifice of the 120 Mikuni Main to the size of a 185 Keihin Main...the Mikuni Main is noticeably larger suggesting that it's been modified (drilled out). What Main Jet came in these from...

    Central Illinois checking in

New to the forums here, but I'm a long time member of TRX250R.net and love two-strokes. My sixteen year-old neighbor just bought a Blaster with a rotten top-end and I'm rebuilding it for him, which has led my son to express an interest in the Blaster. Since my son will probably be on a Blaster...
