Broken Stud Removal - Done Right

I thought everyone could benefit from seeing this link. It's the absolute best way to remove broken bolts/studs.

thanks. it happened to me but it is sticking out a bit i welded a nut on but i didnt do a great job cuz i was in a hurry and the weld broke. ill try it again with wax

Maybe try letting the weld cool longer next time...weld it up and crack a beer while you wait. I:I

good thought but did u see hes 15

it would be easier to take the head drill a hole in the center and then weld in that hole while you place it ontop of the broken piece inside.

Beer will always get this old stud out! B)

seems like the hard way to me ,put the part in a ram EDM and burn the old stud out leaving the threads untouched .welding is dirty tedious and may not work plus high heat can warp aluminum and cause sink spots and meltdowns

No machine shops close to where I live have an Electrical Discharge Machine. There's a shop with a wire EDM but that's no good for disintegrating bolts/studs. Nuts and a MIG welder are my only option.
