    2002 Blaster

Pennswoods.net Classifieds: 2002 Yamaha Blaster I posted this on pennswoods and then figured I'd link it here rather than try to repost everything. I lost interest when I bought my Jeep. Asking 1000, make a reasonable offer and we'll work out meeting up.

    yfz rear shock: pics request.

I'm patient, a pic or two of your rebuild would be freaking sweet for those of us just getting into wheelers or planning to do similar. I've been wanting to rip mine down and paint the frame and some other parts, but I don't want to end u with a pile of crap I can't get back together. lol

So back on topic... what are you doing about getting the wheeler back, if anything?

umm, ok, that makes sooo much more sense on the height then... LOL. The ass end was chest height on a 5'10" guy... I was like - no way in hell anyone's riding like that! Now what about the top, does anyone know what the bolt size I'll need is?

    yfz rear shock: pics request.

After sizing it up, I really don't like how high the rear will sit with it mounted. I may try redrilling the lower mount and cutting off the excess, but I'm afraid to make it too brittle underneath.

I'm at the point with it I am about to just sell my 450 shock for the $45 I spent on it and go find myself a 400ex shock. >.<

Even with the shock out of the wheeler, the stock bolt doesn't slide through the yfz shock. I'm guessing I'll need to get a smaller bolt to slip through. At that point, I'm concerned with the bolt rattling around inside the frame mount.

    yfz rear shock: pics request.

Ok, I got a YFZ450 rear shock and drilled the lower mount so the blaster pin slides through, but WOW is this thing long. I'd really like to see a few pics of a Blaster with the shock installed, and a few pics of the mounting points so I can see what everyone's doing to get this thing bolted in...

Do you ride with a backpack or emergency kit?

Thanks guys for all the replies. I've got a few more things to add tat you all reminded me of. I've got to put a bit more thought into stuff and see where I end up.

    Removing rear shock

I just faced a very similar situation. my upper bolt was stuck in there good. I bashed and pulled and cursed and kicked and screamed at it. Didn't work. :( The answer is PB Blaster... soak the hell out of it and bang on it a bit with a hammer to rattle the rust/dirt loose. Then re-PB it and...

    f*ckin bullshit

How much to get it back? Seriously, on principality alone, sell it for that much. Don't let them keep it. Say it's $500, sell it for $500 and go pick it up that day and write a bill of sale to new owner and let them haul it away. Do NOT let the impound keep it. That's like fighting a 10...

Do you ride with a backpack or emergency kit?

After reading awk08's thread HERE about his riding injury and being in a remote location, it inspired me to get started on an idea I adopted from my days hiking. I was curious if anyone uses a backpack when they're out for long on trails? The inner survivalist in me tells me I should have a...

    Banshee/Warrior rear hubs

I'm looking for some cheap banshee/warrior hubs. lmk what you have laying around and give me a price shipped to 16365. note: these must have good splines and lugs. I'd like to bolt em on and go, no fiddling around with fixing em to work.
