Hey I'm having a hard time getting the jetting set properly on my 03 blaster. I recently just installed a full fmf pipe and a boyesen rad valve. Jumped the jetting up to a 290 with the air box cover on. Air screw 1.5 turns out. The temp was about -5c. I took it out for half an hour or so today...

ok, so what you are saying is to measure the skirt of the piston and the cylinder bore and then compare the two to figure out the gap?

I don't think that sounds the same as mine. but it could, I can't tell that great from the video.

I did a compression test on mine and it reads 135 psi which is lots......if I push on the piston through the exhaust port i can feel a bit of movement in there. The only thing I can think of it being is the skirt of the piston is worn.

does it sound like this? I'm trying to figure out if mine has a slap or not also. That is my bike in the video.

Well I very well could be hahah im really not sure, I haven't heard another one running in person before but my brother has an RM85 and I know it doesn't make any sounds like that......

I haven't looked at the intake side yet, I might have to do that tomorrow. Like I said in my last post, when I pushed on the piston I could feel a little bit of play in there.

Well when I bought the thing there was no exhaust gasket on the bike so when I took the pipe off I looked in the exhaust port and the piston looked fine, no scuffs or anything but when I pushed on it I could feel a bit of play in there.... not sure how much play I should be feeling.

My blaster is making sort of a ringing/slapping noise and I thought it was a piston slap, but I just did a compression test on it and it reads 135 psi. Does anybody have any idea what this could be? Clutch? Bottom end? I just bought the thing and it runs real good, 1st kick in -10 degrees but...

No its not my bike, mine sounds like that but not as loud. At first I thought it might just be the gasket but then when i pushed on the piston it had some play in it so now I figure it must be a piston slap.
