Ive Searched Around for a while but havent found anything about yz125 rear shock setup

prob because everyone likes the 250r and 400ex shock and possibly there is to much fab work

the yz 80 shock is too long so im guessing the 125 shock will be wayyy to long.

i work at a machine shop and plan was to extend the swing arm 6" and then moving the mounting position back so that would compensate for the length its not much longer i was more worried about the resi and if it would support the blaster

the yz125 shock raises the back end up like a mother.... i.e. it dont work =/

oh ok sorry i got confused. with a +6 it should work.

but wouldnt a 125 shock be too soft? cause ur going from barely 200lb to over 300lb?

thats what i was wondering but you can also add more nitrogen to help support the added 100lbs

springs are supposed to support the weight of the quad, not the hydraulics within the shock. shocks are just there to control the oscillation of the springs


you should only use the nitrogen pressure that is recommended.

the rear shock on my '91 YZ125 is 18.5" from eye to eye, you could contact a shock service place to see if you can get it re sprung to get it the way you want it.
