Oil injection removal help please!!!

I took the 2 bolts out that held the motor in place, when it slid off now there is a silver (thread looking) rod sticking out! I can't get that off to put the block off plate in it's place. Immediate help required lol thanks

thats attached to a plastic gear behind the clutch cover. take the clutch cover off to take that crap off

I had my clutch cover almost off then oil started spilling out from bottom, so I stopped. Any way around that?

Drain the oil first.
