First blaster / engine rebuild

If the bearings are not silky smooth they should be replaced!

Oil seals are very easy to replace and should be done along with new bearings.

Standard type wrenches, drivers.

Preferred a case splitting tool, but not essential, can be done by other means.

A soft knockometer, helps a great deal!

if you feel any hesitation in any bearings, they need replaced, period.

can anyone make a recommendation for a full seal and bearing replacement set? Gasket set? Lastly, a good video on how to pull and replace the seals and bearings. Actually... we need a recommendation on where to get a clutch basket and clutch too... don't know if Egay is the way to go... we're pretty nervous about placing orders since we haven't actually put any money into the bike yet.

Also, best way to clean the engine back to like-new specs? A buddy recommended maybe asking a local shop if they would acid bath the cases and gears and what not. Thoughts on cleaning in general...

get oem brand bearings they say koya or koyo on them. i dont think it matters for the bearing seals and the gaskets set but the base gaskets with metal in them are better because they dont suck in..ebay is ur best bet for a cheap clutch basket

Def not something planned on. But it's too late for that. At this point either they get replaced, or a known good motor installed / else if not then it will be back apart in no time from bad bearings/seals.
