1996 yamaha blaster wont run with out throttling it.

I need help i have tried everything but it wont run. I replaced the the top end rode great for a few months. Recently changed spark plug. Any ideas what it might be?

Clean the carb, set float. Record what jets are in it.
List your mods and jetting.

Thats correct. I have to throttle it for the engine to run.

I honestly dont know Im in Missouri and were i live duct tape is the most common thing to fix something.

If you dont mind What town are you located?

A good place to start would be to clean your carb, and set the idle.

If you just did top end you need to leak test. Also was everything torqued to spec?

Yep, sounds like an air leak. Does it run better if you pull the choke knob out?

idle is under seat on stock carb..sounds like 1 of the problems is dirty pilot jet..get a small flat head screwdriver and can of carb cleaner..you should be able to see through it when held up to a light
