Not efficient at all. No torque unless turbo'd. The only good thing is they rev to the moon and don't vibrate at all. They go for LOTS of miles too, not just 50K. The key is to keep the apex seals lubed and clean. A lot of guys pre-mix som 2 cycle oil into the gas to accomplish this...

You dont have to pull the motor.. you can just pull the jug. You can do that with the engine in the quad. But, based on your questions, it's probably best that you take it to the dealer. But, you'll never learn that way. Buy a chilton manual and read it... it'll tellyou everything you need to...

Uhh....?? Porting really has nothing to do with cylinder size. At least not the basic type of porting that Ken will be talking about. It could be done on a stock cylinder, or a cylinder that has been overbored.... probably just not one that has already been ported. I'm sure Ken is gonna keep it...

If all else fails and it's really bound up in there, grind it flush, drill it out and put a heli-coil insert in. Having said that, if you don't know what to do up to this point, my advice probably won't help.

That's cool as heck. Ken knows I have 2 extra cylinders I asked him about, so I can afford to screw one up, but now I'll wait to send them out (not in the budget right now anyway) and try it myself on one of them. You know someone is a stand-up guy if they are willing to take potential money...

The bad thing with 2 strokes is that even a small leak will make it run really lean. You could pour some fuel down the spark plug hole and fire it up... if it revs way up, it's getting air from somewhere. You don't need it to run long to check it... If it's running at all just spray brake...

Man it sure sounds like one of the crank seals or base gasket is leaking. If that eBay carb doesn't work for you, that's gotta be it.... maybe..:-/

Lame.... Kid's a good rider though... It's really hard to ride goofy and make it look goofy.

It could also be an internal leak in the master cylinder... you won't lose any fluid, but the handle will feel all mushy after it sits awhile. This normally only happens if there is moisture in the system and the quad has sat for a period of time. A good bet would be to rebuild the master...

You could mount them anywhere on a blaster since all they are good for is decoration. Try mounting them just under the rear fenders and tell everyone they are diffusers for the turbine exhaust.
