Just wondering if anyone is running the 28mm MIKUNI flatslide carb? I switched from the stock 26mm round slide and it was running great with a 290 main in it. Now it seems like i should be running around a 190 main.:o Does that sound right? I figured if it was flowing more air, it would need...

You have to line them up. It would stop alot of the "my quad is faster than" bulls##t.

there is a post in the DIY section I believe. do a search on carb adjustment or pilot screw, pilot jet.

It depends on how tou drive. If youre in the mid rpm, then yes raise the needle. If you are WOT most of the time then go up on the main. Make sure that your pilot jet is adjusted correctly.

also crack oven the bowl drain, put a catch can under it and let it run out for a little and see if the gas stream gets weaker.

good call. If his fuel line going from the tank to the carb inlet hangs lower than the bowl or is going up hill it wont be able to syphon into the carb.

what carb do you have on it. any mods? what size jet is in it. I'd keep a close eye on that plug!

or his plug color could just be from the air leak. Was this a new plug that you put in after rebuild, or was this plug one that you used before the build?

I agree 1000%. Just for example whats 4 7/8"x5 3/8? Now whats 40mm X30mm. Much more simple. I wish we used it in the fabrication field more often.

It could just be the normal tapping/rattling sound that the normal running blaster makes. You know when the piston is moving up and down during low rpm's like while idling.

Just got back from caledonia in Gettysburg. Raced my dad on his 750 brute force and kept up in the long straights and could pass on the inside trails. Got the blaster all muddy, going out to clean.

If anyone has a cheap aftermarket headpipe that's just sitting around I'll buy it. Anything is better than this dg. I don't have enough money to get the LRD, that's what I really want. I'm sick of no top end. I don't care what the headpipe looks like as long as its not bent or dinged real...

It was flat before the timing advance. I think that its that piece of s##t dg pipe. the p&P is for mid high, though I don't have the head redesigned. I have the high compression head gasket on it. Actually the advance made the low stronger and really makes the mid hit good. Very pleased...
