I haven't seen a listing of a big bore blaster piston by wiseco. The only option I have seen so far (I need a 73.0 mm) is from Vito's. It is $159.95 Seems a little steep.

I'll get some better pictures of the piston tonight... but I did not see any glaring defects, and my first few measurements did not appear to point to an "out of round" condition. Here is a pic of the top, all the other pics are of the intake side at the moment.

I didn't feel any scratches. I just wanted to check if this was normal... I have not seen it before. I wanted to make sure there is no known cause outside of worn rings....

The only number are, On the top (1.0 for the size), and there is an L1 inside the piston.

Not the dark area around the circumference, the two dark patches between the exhaust port and where the rings stop. Those aren't shadows, those are actually tan spots on the cylinder wall.

I need to buy a new piston... I am not sure if I should buy an identical piston (seems to be a reasonable idea) Either way, it is a 240 (not sure which one) it is a 72mm(+1.0) piston. The truth is though, after measuring the cylinder it is actually closer to 72.9 I tried looking for pictures...

I pulled my engine apart for having low compression (I was told it was a high compression engine, but only had 110 PSI) One of the things I found was the brown/tan discoloration of the cylinder between the exhaust port and the head. I have not seen this before, any clue why this would happen?

Maybe I was unclear.... I know how to take one apart... the previous owner apparently did not. IN order to get the float within limits, the tang needs to be at a relatively extreme angle, and there are signs that the float assembly has been bent...I am trying to get it back in the right shape

I think my float is way out of whack due to being disassembled by the previous owner improperly. I tried setting the float height yesterday, but I had to bend the tang pretty far to set it (obviously not right). It is still leaking. I hope I don't have to get a new float to get it right.
