    Honda CM400T Starting Problem

I bought a 1978 CM400T a bit back and after I tore it completely down and rebuilt it cafe style it ran great (after carb cleaning of course). I rode it around and let the GF chase me around on it without skipping a beat. After playing around on it the other day I parked it in my garage like...

Put the new seals in the freezer, they slide in easier when they have shrinkage.

how to replace bottom end seals??

Use a screwdriver to pry out the old seals. Use a deepwell socket to tap them back in. the one is behind the clutch basket so take your time. Not a hard job at all.

I think you're looking at the carb where a vent hose should be.

    Is there anyway?

You could go with something like this Moose Universal Headlight Switch 787-7707 Yamaha WR426F 2002 on eBay! And have 1 small switch to turn the light on/off then have the kill switch that goes to ground when the tether is pulled.

    2005 blaster tors??

I said sounds like it could be the crank bearing seal, sorry if i confused you. I've seen when they smoke a lot at higher RPM like that and have a miss/bogg problem it can be caused by a bad crank seal letting engine oil into the combustion chamber.

    2005 blaster tors??

Disconnect the Tors: http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/how-remove-your-tors-655/ Sounds like it could be a crank bearing seal. You need to do a leakdown.

    2005 blaster tors??

Compression/Vacuum ? You can try to just unplug the tors to make sure that that is not the problem. If the problem persists you need to do a compression test and a leak down.

    rear brake caliper problems

Sounds like a hydro brake setup should be in your future. If they're froze up that bad you'll have more money into it than it's worth, and you'll still have stock brakes.

    front brakes

Remember there's 3 adjustment points. One on each wheel and one on the lever. Make sure that one drum isn't adjusted more than the other that'll throw the 1 into 2 box design that they have off badly (watch through the clear front of the "splitting box" to make sure they're pulling the same...

    2005 Blaster Rebuild

Great find. I usually do 2-3 Quads/Bikes a year, it gets addictive. Looks like we're from the same parts, I'm just around the corner in Bentleyville. What top end kit did you order? And x2 on the leakdown, it's saved me more than a few times.

    wont downshift! please help

You can check out the shifting parts without splitting the case. Might want to pull the right side case cover If the oil specs out okay to have a look see. Sounds like it could be a bent fork not letting the shift star roll.

    94 Blaster Rebuild

Thanks guys. I'm currently looking for some heel guards. Never thought of raptor ones, I'll look into that. That pvc rear foot guard looks like a good little project I might do that.
