Did I put my crank case seal in wrong?

Thanks for the reply! I ended up picking up a parts blaster just in this case. Now I know what to look for(damaged case). Did a compression test (130 psi) so I'm hoping there's no damage to the top end, but I'll get it tore down look for damage. Next, time I buy something not running I'm gonna...

Did I put my crank case seal in wrong?

Just looking for some feed back on this. Would replacing the bearing fix this? I'm assuming this is abnormal, or I'm performing the test wrong.

Did I put my crank case seal in wrong?

Got back to work on it tonight. I had no air coming from the vent tube, so I soaped up the clutch shaft , nothing there either, pulled the gear off the balancer...there's air blowing threw the bearing on the balancer like no tomorrow. I'm guessing the cases wil have to be split, or am I doing...

Did I put my crank case seal in wrong?

Hi Guys, My latest blaster I picked up is an 04, bought it already pulled apart with a bad inner clutch housing. I got it together (no crank case oil) and it ran descent. I put type f in and it started smoking really bad. Dropped the case oil and no smoke again. I then put a right side crank...

any way to tell big bore externally?

We did get some better pics, and the head is a bare finish. It's completely missing the rear barakes, looks as it may have an aftermarket carrier, possibly widened axle, shock covers, and it has studded rear tires. Theres no paper work for the bike, and as Mosca mentioned "the owner before me did...

any way to tell big bore externally?

Hi guys, a buddy of mine wants me to go look at a blaster with him that supposedly has a 240 big bore kit. The guy doesn't have paper work for the big bore kit and I'm sceptical about it. Any way to tell externally if the work has been done. Is there any difference in the way an aftermarket head...

    tank plastics

This may be a stupid question, but are the tank covers the same on a 03-06 as the 02 and older models?

    restoring plastics

Wow, the mop and glo seems to really bring back the darker colored pieces. I'm gonna try a DA with some fine grit on some of the deeper scratches. Your input has helped guys, I'm definitly working off your ideas. I'll hit some of the discolored from stress areas with the heat gun. I'd like to...

    restoring plastics

Well I've gotton over spray and grime off with a solvent cleaner and run the buffer over them so far, andd they look alot better. I'm experimenting on my blue plastics because I prefer the black and red I already have. I'm a little scared to wet sand them, but I'm going to give it a shot. Then...

    restoring plastics

Hi guys, I've been looking at restoring my plastics. Has anyone tried a wet sand and buff? I've considered paint but, I'd rather try getting back the original finish first. I was thinking maybe shave the big stuff with a razor blade, then a 800,1000, then 1500 grit and buff. I don't have much...

    Hi, new from NY

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I'm a little over an hour away from Penn Yann , my Dads about 1/2 hour from there. I'll get some pics up soon, got some of the 03 before I tore it down. When I got the 06, it was partially apart, but has fresh paint on the frame and is a very clean unbeaten bike.

    Hi, new from NY

Hi guys, I just bought a pair of blasters (03 & 06)to get back into the 4-wheeler hobby. I'll be putting one good quad together with the both of them. I'm familiar with cars and racing them, but I haven't had quads in quite some time and the blaster seemed like a great quad to start to get into...
