Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

Part of the reason I want to yz250 Swap is that a worked over blaster at the end of the day is a worked over motor. The reliability of a bone stock motor such as a yz250 is better any day. Iv also heard Yamahas 490 2 stroke bolts right into these without modification?? But I’d have a hard time...

Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

Yah I get what your saying. My old has a 250r and it’s what a grew up on. I’m definitely getting something 2 stroke as I’m done with 4 strokes. However the cheapest 250r in my area for a while has been 5200. I have a buddy who has a blaster rolling chassis I can buy for 300$ and I can get a...

Anyone every owned a long travel blaster and a 450?

Or, you could spend about the same money and get yourself the best quad ever made, a TRX250R and trick it out a bit. 🤣 In all seriousness though, it sounds like a cool build. I would definitely want to stretch and widen a YZ250 powdered Blaster. Banshee hubs fit on the Blaster axle, so that...

    Missing Brake Tab on frame?

I would just fab a new piece, otherwise it decreases value of old frame, either to you or someone else. Seriously consider gusseting frame, at least the bottom where they bend when you run into something

    YZF600 engine stuffed into a 90 blaster

The yellow highlighted area is known to bend,(collisions only as far as i know) the red highlighted area is what i would gusset at least, I'm sure other members have done something like this before, i'd wait for their input.

    YZF600 engine stuffed into a 90 blaster

Will do, for sure. Should have a good chunk of the day today to work on it so I'll post some more tonight. Are there any known weak areas in the frame design? I've seen a mention of people not gusseting the blaster frame enough but they don't say where the failures occur. Was just wondering if...

    lt500 in a blaster?

Well that's the thing, I don't know how to tune a two stroke very well, a four stroke I can listen to it, smell it and feel it to see where I'm not getting enough fuel or where I need more.. so I got this from a spoiled little kid, my guess is his parents got him a nice quad from someone who...

DISASSEMBLING THE ROLLING CHASSIS Good morning everyone! As you all know, I am planning on gusseting and painting my rolling chassis as part of my project. In order to accomplish either of those, the rolling chassis needs to be entirely disassembled (and stored until I have enough money to...

    TWal Complete Blaster Rebuild

There are a couple post on here about gussets with location and sizes. You will have to make them. There isn't a company that pre-makes them for the blaster anymore. I searched everywhere.

    TWal Complete Blaster Rebuild

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA! THANK YOU! The whole thing is going to be apart soon and gusseting the frame is a VERY good idea. Do you know if there are any kits floating around with pieces that are sized correctly? I would definitely be up for fabbing them if not. Do you have any suggestions for...

    gusseting ?

Bear in mind that welds of good quality are required. If you lack skills in welding, gusseting a frame can rendered it useless. The welds must be full penetration, with no under cut, using the correct heat so as to avoid thermal disturbance problems.

    600 cbr in 2006 blaster

It is not the machine that matters, though it helps if it is a MIG, it is the operator that needs to be good. All areas of stress, engine mountings, swing arm pivots, shock mounts and even steering components would have to be beefed up to make it safe. A lot of gusseting done by a very...
