    Headlight cooked!!

OEM lighting is AC, you'll need to change it to 12v DC for LED lights & accessories. That takes a rectifier/regulator, small battery & float the ground. There are threads here describing this in detail. Also wiring diagrams. Just use search. Happy night rides! 🍻...

Upgraded headlight to mini 4 bulb led light

...your lighting system it runs through the rectifier regulator where it is converted to 12V DC. The flickering is due to the voltage drop at lower RPM falling below the threshold the LED lights require to illuminate. Best way to address that is as stated above, adding a small battery to the system.

    Otis' Hot Rod Blaster build

Otis' Hot Rod Blaster It began as a 89 Blaster. We've owned it about 20 yrs. Played with brakes, suspension & engine stuff from the start. Put a YZ250WR engine in it around 07. Bf BOTM August 09. Switched to methanol at some point. That was entertaining. Took it apart to reconfigure the...

    Blaster Bogs Beyond Idle

Definitely not the stock carb. It didn't come with an airbox lid. The 270 I thought would have been around a good starting place since stock is 230, but no harm in swapping up. I cannot wait until it runs well enough that I can start doing plug chops! I had planned on putting an LED pod in...

    Blaster Bogs Beyond Idle

...it running better, I'd immediately do a "plug chop" to establish the correct main jet size. If you plan on upgrading to a DC system with LED lights, then suggest getting the Rick's Motorsports (not Ricky Stator) upgrade for your stator. Optionally, I recently did the DC conversion and have...

    Stator conversion to battery charge

My blaster built in 2004 has a switch on the foot brake with a connection to the wiring harness, but this has no function. I'm considering swapping the ignition lock for another one with multiple connections to disable all electronic consumers. Conversion to LED lighting is planned anyway...

    Brake light 2004

So I recently fitted a brake light back onto my blaster as previous owner kicked it off and didn’t need it. Used a Lucas style 12v 2 filament bulb style no LED. Wired it up and I can either get a bright tail light (which should be brake light) and when brakes applied all lights go out. Or I can...

    LED podlight

I have a 2000 blaster that I'm trying to put a Blazer 4in light bar on. So far I have the light hooked to the high beam wire and just grounded on the voltage regulator. It worked fine for a few seconds but now only the bottom row of lights come on and are hardly visible. Would putting a...

    4 pin rectifier wiring

Pretty sure you have to float the ground to add a reg/rec, meaning to un-ground that wire at the stator and run it directly to the ground of the reg/rec skip thru this thread and check all the tech posts... https://www.blasterforum.com/threads/converting-to-led-lights.58577/

    Led lights need help

check Bronco's journey thru this, but there has been others just hook them up to the existing AC voltage system, they'll dim at low rpm's and possibly blow out, so don't do it to expensive ones ..... https://www.blasterforum.com/threads/converting-to-led-lights.58577/
