Recently had a piston explode and it cracked both cases severely. I am not using them and picked up another bottom end for donor cases one is good the other has the portion where the shift shaft passes through broke off see pic. Anyone have any luck having these welded? Or know of a good mag side case available?

I have welded cast aluminum engine parts several times. It's fixable for sure. I do a die pen test after the weld is complete on crucial engine parts, It checks for cracks and/or pinholes. Your local welding shop should be able to help you out.

that looks weldable to me, depending on your skills and welder u may be able to do it yourself? or have a weld shop do it for you

Loctite makes a good epoxy weld ideal for all metals, its rated for 300 degress F and 3000 psi. I used it on my cases that broke from a shattered skirt as well. Its been almost 2 years and still holding strong ! It's a good, easy, cheap fix and I would absolutely recommend it, you should be able to pick it up at your local Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace etc.
