Does the outer filter cover (red foam sleeve) protect the inner filter from water? I dont have a cover on my custom box, and noticed a little bit of snow got into box.

The outer just protects the inner from larger debri. An outerwears cover will keep the water out.
Alright. I sent a couple messages to sellers on ebay to get some dimensions of their covers. Hopefully one will fit my box.
You can get the outerware material seperate , square pieces from Dennis Kirk, less than $20 for 12x12", make you own custon lid for custom box.
I let whatever wants to get into the box. It drains out anyway. I have an outerwear on just around the outside of the filter
