Yeah...I suppose not idling isn't so bad... I'll tear into it some more at work tomorrow....I think I still have an air leak...I can hear a "pssht" sound when I open it up from low RPM's...

So how did you get yours to idle?

Here's what I'm working with. I can get it to start and run....just won't idle.

Well hmm... I guess I'm not understanding this TORS deal. I only stopped the oil pump. I removed the lines and plugged them...never tapped and drilled anything into the carb. I must be missing something...pics coming soon..

Check the strength of your spark. A damaged flywheel can affect the exciter coil and weaken spark.

Did you adjust your jetting?

Word. I still have to piece my intake boot together. I haven't found an air filter yet so it's just running without one. I'm sure that's my problem. Also...how many turns out should the air screw be? I can't find a spec. I'll give a few things a try.

I actually hate Yamaha with a passion...but for $50 I coldn't pass the deal up. It was sitting in a garage for 8 years...the guy got a fireworks ticket, so he told me to pay the ticket and the quad was mine.:D I spent around $350 on parts...rebuilt the engine at the shop...and it is good...

Hey everyone. I just bought a 89 Blaster for $50. I put a hot crank/hot rod in it with new seals. Also rebuilt the top end and it is good as new.I:I I'm also a Honda Technician and the local dealership in town (hence the username;)) so I hope that I can help some of you that have questions...
