hey folks, i'm in the middle of completely tearing down my second blaster for restoration. the axle assembly is completely tore down for bearings, seals, grease, etc. my question is the axle itself is kind of grimy nasty. how do you prep for reassembly and clean it up. sandblasting ok...

by over revving you mean running too high of rpm's for a sustained period of time? As i sit now 99% of my driving is through fields at slow speed (1st gear alot at near idle rpm's) I do drive down the gravel but i'm a far cry from maxed out rpm wise so I think i iwll be fine.

anybody ever go to an 11 or 12 up front? i've got 22 inch rear tires so looking to compensate. Thanks, David

does the differance lie in the carrier or axle?

yea that nut, i didn't know if tight turns or offroading would put much side strain on the nut.

yea we coudl probably do that here at work but i was concern with the strength since i'm assuming you had to step down a size.

just the axle, i buggered up the hub threads knocking the axle out of the carrier. guess i thought having the nut on the threads and a socket over the nut would keep them good but i bent the threads right over :(

any body have a good spare blaster axle they want to get rid of? Thanks! David
