You should really try to get that seal in there evenly for it to "seal" properly. Then check and make sure you still have enough trans fluid in the gear case since you have been burning it the top end.

Isn't the rebound controlled by the hydraulics of the shock, not the springs?

Yea, I had the motor laying on it's left side, put in all the gear sets, forks, etc. Then put yamahbond 4 on the right side and slid it down like you said. Didn't have to pull it back off for any reason so guess I didn't run into this particular problem. I always heard that luck is a by-product...

I installed the trans gears on a spare motor and have all 6 gears and works fine. I am wondering though, is it possible to install it wrong somehow so only a couple gears would work? Seems by just looking and putting it together that it can only go together one way without forcing something.

If you have to split the cases. You pull the clutch side off of the flywheel side. All the transmission gears stay in the flywheel side with a little help.

Is that a seat cover, or is it painted?

That big bolt is just corroded in place. Once you get the nut loose, leave it on the end of the bolt, use a block of wood or something and wack it with a hammer. Try not to mess up the threads. There is a chance your swing arm bearings will need replaced if it is that rusted.

So... you fixed his blaster for him, then he sold it for probly more than $500 to someone else? That stinks, hope you can find another.
