WR500

Hey guys. A buddy of mine has a 92 yamaha WR500. He's having a hard time getting into 3rd gear while it's running. However, when shifting by hand while not running it will go into 3rd. Any ideas?

Is the clutch adjustment correct?Maybe bent shift fork

Do you mean it will go to 4th and 5th skipping 3rd or wont go any further than 3rd? Did this just recently start or slowly progressed?

3rd is hard to get in while riding. He said he can't get in it. But he can get into 4th and 5th. Not sure how long it's been going on.

Oh he did just rebuild the entire motor about 2 months ago.

Might have missed a part (clip or spring) error in assembly, worn or bent fork
