just did a rebuild on the transmission. engine ran great before rebuild. now when i start it i have too full choke it and once it start it goes in to full throttle and when you close the choke it dies out unless you give it gas

sounds like the carb slide was installed wrong, theres a pin on the kicker side inside the carb that has to align with the slot on the slide
you also have to be sure the needle is going down into the needle valve

or an airleak, did you leakdown test it ?

you have an air leak , you need to do a compression and leak test to help determine where it is . use the search function to learn how to pressure test the engine . My question for you is did you make ANY Intake or Exhaust Changes after the rebuild? If you did , what were they , and did you re-jet the carb for those changes?

i checked it is in the right way. and it slides up and down.

gotta be vastly under jetted, clogged/dirty jets
or a massive airleak
clean the carb, disassemble and completely clean every jet and orifice.....................

then leakdown test it before ever even starting it again !!!!!......................

none when i bought it it had a fmf exhaust

what size main jet is in there now ???
should be a 270-290 for that fmf
search for "plug chops" and learn how to do them

and leakdown test it, before it fries !!!
