Why not put a gusset between the frame just after the a-arms on the bottom rails? It seems like every frame that bends, bends there.

I know mojaves have the same weak spot and alot of people gusset it.


I was thinking of using a very lightweight piece of 3/4" od steel pipe, it would hardly add any weight (probably made up for by removing a few unused tabs)

So why not?

my frame will be getting that, and a few others during my winter teardown and repaint, i also noticed my sons frame is slightly tweaked there from my crash into them rocks earlier this year, < which also destroyed a rim and tie rod/end

heres a gusset kit from tpr, dont know if they include that piece, but theres a bunch of them in this kit, wish i could figure out where they all go,
i think dually has a gusset kit, maybe he can tell us ?????..............
