Torque Specs on the Engine Studs

I am working on a 89 Blaster and I need to find out the torque specs on the cylinder head studs. Is is the same as the head nuts? 20?

I would imagine finger tight would do it. Normally, you don't want to torque studs. I'll check the manual to be sure.

I didn't find any specs in the book, so I would go with finger tight. Just make sure they seat. You can double two nuts up on them to screw them into the jug if they are stubborn, but make sure the threads are clean and don't crank them down.

theyre 18 ft lbs if your talking about the 4 that hold on the cylinder to the bottom end

foolish.... please read the question twice before answering a post they are talking about the"torque of the studs themselves" into the cylinder not the torque of the nuts on the studs. not tryin to be an ass or anything sorry and no im no mechanic so i dont know i personally have never removed the studs themselves from a cylinder.

Its 18 ft lbs onthe bottom 25 on the head boltsdont finger tighten them unless your the incredible hulk

Splendid guess bro, but you are wrong, 20 ft lbs for the head nuts.

It is fine to snug them up, and I always use Loctite.

You should use none. torque them and do heat cycles. then re-torque

Head studs may be Blue Loctited into the cylinder, but the nuts must be put on dry and torqued down to 20ft lbs.

it is a cr500 stud but he says 30ft lbs and loctite

One puts thread lock on the studs to avoid them unscrewing when removing the head retaining nuts!
