i have tried that and it worked well, i have also found and aold socket that is smaller then the nut i am trying to get off, pound it on, then weld it then torque it off. it ruines a socket so use an old one.
I had the same problem with the drain plug on my bike..Its amazing how stupid people can be using the wrong size socket or using pliers to remove a drain plug..I was able to get the plug out with some vise grips..Kurt
i've had to do this to a buncha nuts and bolts and woodward's way is the easiest i've found. but i don't weld anything, i just grind the head off the bolt and the shaft will turn out easily. but have a drain pan ready!
