Skimming blaster head to raise comp

You don't want to just remove material from the sealing surface of a stock head. This will lead to detonation (pre-ignition). You need to re-chamber the combustion chamber (Hemi)and set up the proper squish distance (clearance). This is where you start making power. The stock yamaha blaster combustion chamber design is a poor design that promotes a "Lazy" burn of the air/fuel charge. A re-chambered head will really wake up the blaster engine, and gives it a snappy, quick revving power band. A HUGE difference! The stock cylinder head is one of the parts that yamaha "de-tuned on the blaster engine to make it more tractable,or in other words "easier to ride" for new entry level riders. The high compression,re-chambered head lets you still run pump fuel WITHOUT detonation. A HUGE PLUS! No "Race gas" required!

Here's some of my work. the difference is quite noticeable.

yep what they said. do a search for the hemi style heads. i'm running one with 165psi and runs on 93 pump gas. and it adds alot of low-end torque and more snap to the motor
