Shock removal problems

went to remove my stock shock and can't get the top bolt out. Should it just slide out? Even tried turning it with a socket and I can turn it but just barely

Lift rear end of atv, soak in pb blaster or such, gently tap out with hammer with bolt slightly on to try and prevent mushrooming. Sounds seized to shock bushing. Always use aantiseiz or light greese to prevent in future

This is where the dreaded WD 40 can be put to good use.

It then should then tap out.

may want to change the bolt out, if its given you that much trouble than im sure it will happen again and may ruin a good shock

No worries. I was switching to a 400ex shock anyway so I had a new bolt. Got it on there but it was already dark after my sticky bolt fiasco so I didn't get the chance to adjust it

I always put the bolt in dry as a dead dogs donger.

Grease, oil, will dry up over time and seize the bolt,.

If needs be Anti sieze can be used.

I did the same. I won't be removing the shock more than likely any time soon.
