Got my old 2 blasters back today(another post!) having a problem with one... is their a measurement of how much clearance their should be between the piston and the barrel? because it seems to me asif theirs a fair bit of movement but im not 100% sure and it seemed to have hard compression, i didnt put the tester on but it was hard to kick anyhow and i think the bearings are fine because it kicks over find with the head off.. anyway so is their a clearance I can check with a feeler gauge?

Short answer, NO

You need to be able to measure the dia of cyl - dia of piston = clearance. Cyl needs to be off to measure piston. Cyl should be measured in six places to determine out of round and taper. Best explination of this is in Clymers manual, maybe in down load manual.
