Ok, i just bought a 2000 Blaster in EXCELLENT condition.

I brought it home and the red light was on so i figured to give it an oil change ....

so here are my questions...

1. The cap right by my kickstart is where i insert my new oil?
2. Is there supposed to be a dipstick on the cap, becuase there is not.
3. What oil is suggested to be used for motor oil?
4. What kind of 2stroke oil do i put in my resevoir tank under my seat?

Any other suggestions or upgrades i should do?

P.S. ....It was ticking a little bit at idle but i do believe that is because oil was pretty low and very dirty.

ok here are the anwsers you are looking for in order.

1.yes that is the fill area buy your kick start for your new trans fluid
2.no no dip stick. there is a sight window on the rearof the coover to check the fluid level.
3.do not use motor oil. use some sore of 2 stroke transmition fluid. I use Bel-Ray Gear Saver 80W. It will be for 2 cycle transmitions
4.you can use any 2 stroke oil, most use yamalube 2R with the oil injection system.

but really what i would do if i was you is buy an oil injection block off kit, remove the oil injection, and pre-mix your own gas with some sort of racing 2 stroke oil.

what he said. but i disagree with #3

i have always ran Royal Purple synthetic motor oil in my blaster transmission. 10w40 has never let me down and i change it every 3 months.

I can't figure out how to see how much oil i've put in.

There is no dipstick so how do i know when i have put enough oil in?
