I was wondering if I could run my 2001 Yamaha Blaster without the oil pump...just for now...until the shop that lost my original oil pump gets it in the mail for me. For instance can I just plug off that line and just mix the fuel myself??

if the pump is missing from inside the clutch cover, you cannot run it like that without a blockoff plate, or trans fluid will run out into the pump cover and possibly starve your trans and clutch of fluid.

you can buy or make a blockoff plate, then cap the injection nipple on the carb, and just run 32:1 mix

here's info.........

I would just wait it out. awk beat me too most of the stuff but I would like to add in you would also need to change your jetting too.

Ok. Appreciate the info..I was just getting too anxious to start this thing up cause its the last thing I need to hopefully get this thing started. This shop had lost my oil pump and now they're taking like a week and a half to get this part...and all next 2 weeks I'm gonna be busy with work and traveling

Ok..Thank you Blaaster..yeah I've just decided to wait it out. I've just pieced everything together so that all I need to do is throw that oil pump on there and go!
