New gen. blaster lighter than old gen?

I read This on Wikipedia:


''For the 2003 model year the Blaster was updated with a re-styled front nose, and the headlight assembly was moved down from the handlebars to the nose, and an all around lighter machine for greater performance.''

Is this true? Where was the weight saving done?

If it's any lighter, it's in the headlight assembly, possibly the front brakes discs vs. drums.
I'd say the rear hydro brakes are heavier than the cable driven ?

either/or..... if it's lighter, it's negligible while riding

I do remember seeing the two side by side in comparison and the 03-06 was rated 10 pounds lighter lol

It's piddly lol. We have an '89 and an '03 and they feel exactly the same.
