Greetings ya'll,

Picked up a pair of blasters, both have carbs that are trashed- looking for replacements that give some room to grow into.

Future mods will be ported jugs and rechambered heads, good reeds. Proper pipes to support low/mid.

Primary use is for trails, both High Desert scab rock and PNW woods and ranch use

Right now, it's a toss up between a 28mm flatslide Mikuni or the 28mm PWK, maybe just stay with the 26mm round slide.

I guess the first question is would the flatslide gains be diminished by the larger bore? Second would be is one of the three more (or less) sensitive to altitude and atmospheric conditions (for your gear heads think Holley 3310 v. Edlebrock or Carter)

Unknown current mods on both machines, one uses FMF pipe and silencer, the other is an unknown (prev owner said CJ pipe) Both will be running a stock airbox (to support the carb at both ends) open lid, foam Uni

Thoughts & opinions ?

Honestly the stock carbs are really good carbs. Easy to tune, TONS of jetting information on this site for them, even with tuned bikes. My current motor still uses a stock carb and it has a trail ported and polished cylinder by KOR, head mod by KOR, stock box, uni filter, DynoPort Big volume right bend pipe and 3mm stroker crank.
