must be this wet weather, and also pine trees nearby, thats where i usually see them

Yeah they get in between the bark and the wood in our wood pile... they smell funky when you crush them too.

Looks to me to be some kind of helgramite type fly... probably some subspecies or something??

i found it dead in my back yard, it is friggin creepy lookin if u see it in person, like a devil bug, lol
