Well I bought a blaster that someone has attempted to motor swap. I know its not the stock motor and frankly its a garbage job. Is there a way I can find out what I have.

call your local dealer, give them the # off the engine and ask them what it is

Back in the old days between more static compression and crappy ignition, they used a compression release to aid starting. Points and condensor, no timing advance, they had a nasty habit of kicking back.

There is a motor code. It should be on the left hand side.
Post it up.
There should also be a motor size cast into the cylinder. Larry is spot on it does look alot like a 360 going by the head I have in the garage from one.
Interesting fact is the 74' 360 didn't have reeds but for some reason my lesser poor man's YZ the 74' MX175 did.
