Do I have to jet the carb after I have rebuild the motor .40 over. its is all stock that I know of. if so what should I get?
thanks

Unless you have changed the breathing there is no need to rejet.

If the weather is very cold it may pay to put one size larger main in to compensate.

If you are concerned do a plug chop,

everything is stock but the piston. i also rebuild the carb before i heard it needed to be jeted

Stock motors are pretty forgiving when it comes to jetting, they are pretty well jetted on the rich side to allow for inexperienced users.

The oil injection provides a good amount of oil, it is when you premix that you need to worry about jet changes to compensate,

If the weather is extremly cold you may need the get a larger main.

As said before if you are concerned, plug chop to confirm.

i have to mix the fuel my self. i forgot that is the only thing taken off from it. i just repainted the frame had everything off from it.

32:1 requires 2 size larger main jet, 25:1 requires 2 sizes larger.

The reason, addition of oil to the fuel reduces the amount of gas in the mix and can make the mixture gas lean, which causes excessive heat an can damage pistons.,

You definatly need to plug chop to see where your jetting is.

Plug chop.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch off the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

This is a good to go plug.

This one is a little rich, but I would run it, I like to be on the safe side.

You have to get up a reasonable speed so that you can get the motor to pull strongly.

Then hold it Wide Open Throttle (WOT) for 10 secs or as long as you can.

The idea is not to get speed but to make it pull strong at full throttle to get onto the main jet curcuit.

I find I can safely do it on a short run by applying the brakes some.

If you have not enough room you can use 4th or 5th gear with good results.

Do not get sucked into buying a kit, there are seldom any jets that you can use.

Do not try to save money on cheap jets, they often are below standard and the incorrect size.

Jets r us is a good place to look but there are others that will give better service.

Coming from the other side of the pond I am not familiar with the other outlets, but I am positive someone will chime in.

Ge a #240, #250 and #260 and a few b8es plugs, good luck.
