Dude if you wanna make nets its pretty simple. Get yourself some nylon strapping and you can connect the grid section by drilling holes at the cross sections and use rivets or short bolts with lock washers. Wrap the ends around the tubes and do the same.

thats a great idea. but where would i connect it to at the foot peg side.

edit. and how would i stop them from sliding??

i realized that if i put plate or nets on it i wouldnt be able to get it off, so i cut it right in the middle and slid a bigger pipe over one end and welded it. the other side just slides in. that way i can take it off as 2 seperate peices.

you could just weld expanded metal on the bottom of it... wont be that much weight then and it will be like a net only more solid

I'd think plates would look sick but nets would also, soo I'd do whichever is easier.

Back when I was a poor college kid working in a fab shop i made my own also. I used metal strapping for the "netting". Worked great.. I always had a problem with bending pegs and breaking nets... so this was a good alternative for me. Steel is heavy... but if it holds up its worth it.
