I am just about to buy a set of ASR +3 +1 A-arms for my blaster, i have already got a set of 2009 YFZ450 front shock as i was advised they would be a great upgrade!

Problem is, i spoke to the people at ASR and they said there A=arms are made for a shock with eye to eye of 16 1/4, i measured my shocks and they are 18 1/4 eye to eye.

I have read on here that they will fit but just need to know for sure before i buy them, can anyone please help!???

what about snyder +5 arms. i'm sure they can put the mount further out to accept those long ass shocks.

btw, must be from the yfz450r FI model.

Hey Stevie,
They are right, they will not work, the YFZ shocks you are talking about are the YFZR models and the R models from 09 to current are 18 1/4" ete, if the ASR arms requirer 16 1/2 inch and you wanted to use YFZ shocks, you could use a pair of YFZX shocks (2010,2011 years) they are 16 3/4" ete and are great shocks, or a pair of 07 SE, 08 Raptor shocks are 16" ete, or the 09 and newer Raptor 700's are 16 1/4" ete, these all have pre-load adjustment also high/low speed compression and rebound adjustment too, all these are a great shock (depending on how you prefer your ride height) let me know what you end up with and I'll try and help you with their adjustments..
Good luck,
Kevin

Hey Kevin thanks man! ye i managed to get my hands on a set of Herrmann long travel a-arms +3(+1.5 per side) last pair lol!! these arms take a 18.25 shock so the ones i have will do very nicely ;-) some rep power for you!

Thanks StevieN

Perfect Stevie, going to be a great set-up for you, I'm sure you know but just incase you don't, they have progressive dual rate coils, so set the pre-load different then you would adjust your normal single rate coils, also the top adjustments are for the compression, the 17mm nut is the high speed compression adjustment ( has a total of 4 complete rotation's), the screw in the center is the low speed compression (20 total clicks, or settings) and the bottom adjusting screw om bottom mount is the rebound (also 20 click adjustment). Have fun with them, very good shocks for the money for sure..

Hey mate thanks again, ye it will be a great set up am sure! i'll hit you up when am mounting everything still at the powder coating stage, just sent my rear shock away to get cut and bushings made to fit my quad thats also a YFZ450 shock its a 2006 its getting drilled at 16 3/4 ete so should sit very nice as iam around 200+ lbs! as for setting the shocks up i have no clue so would be great if you could help me out with that when the time comes?

Check out my rebuild in the uk for my pictures as i progress

Yes, your correct, the KFX450 shocks have the progressive dual rate coils as the YFZ's do, they are both made by KYB and have the same adjustability, pre-load, compression and rebound, besides the eye to eye length of the KFZ's 16 1/4"-and the YFZ's 15 3/4", the lower mounts on the KFX'z are smaller then the YFZ's, they make a great upgrade for the Raptor 660 & 700 that come with pogo shocks and on the 660, and you do not need to grind away material on the lower arm like needed with the YFZ upgrade when using the OEM arms, and they keep the ride height the same comparred to the YFZ's lowering it a bit..
