Just noticed on the blaster i bought that even if it sits for a hour it's REALLY hard to start..Even using the choke it's hard to start. Any idea's where to start?

could be ALOT of things, we need more details, whats your jetting, is it leak tested, whats the compression, whats the float level at? fresh gas?
Hard to start..i gotta go to fleet farm and get a new compression tester my old one is broken..If i had bad compression that means rings? or total rebuild. Looks like a project for this winter I:I
Hmmm..i might just be doing a rebuild thread...the previous person must not have done a good job, and i don't like my stuff half-assed. The engine sounds kinda rough anyway
Well being as you got it for $600, there is probably some minor things wrong with it.
Doesnt mean someone half-assed it, could just mean its a wore out stocker. When you go to fleet farm, buy the stuff to make a leak tester also.

It was bored by someone on the last rebuild that was in july. I called the person who did it and talked to him. He said he did do it in july. Has to be a poor job. I'll get the parts for a leakdown tester also
Do not assume that a poor job was at fault.
A perfectly built motor can be killed by a stupid operator not breaking in properly or jetting poorly.
Have you leak tested it?
When ever you buy a used 2 stroke you should always perform a leak test before you start it.
I'm going to leak test it as soon is get to taking the motor out..The guy i talked to who rebuilt it said he did a "Fast, not as thorough job" and said "He just wanted to get it done" He also said "the guy didn't pay me well so it's not the best job".
Please share this mechanics name so that no one else will be tempted to get work done by him.

Old gas.....Empty old gas out.... Premix oil and gas 32:1 Ratio pour in tank and try again, once it starts let it run for a while or lightly drive it around to get the fresh gas in there
How do you know hes premixing?
DO NOT MIX GAS IF YOU STILL HAVE THE OIL INJECTION!
I still do...i believe... i haven't put any new gas in it. I'll have to call the previous owner and find out.
Look on the back, is there an oil tank under the right rear fender? Does a tube go from that all the way to the front of your clutch side cover?

You know how i was talking about it wouldn't start? Now it starts first or second kick..even after letting it sit today for 5 hours. A fuel flush did the trick! Kinda surprised...
