All those landslips we've been reporting on all day? Civil Defence say their initial information is that there have been between 80,000 to 100,000 landslides across NZ as a result of the quakes. That's incredible.
 
There have been a staggering 650 aftershocks in the 24 hours since the 7.5 earthquake struck. GeoNet duty seismologist John Ristua says at least 40 had a magnitude above 5.
He says things are likely to be more over the next few days- and warns that there's a 12 per cent chance of a magnitude 7 or higher in the next 24 hours.

there is a shake ever 2mins only small ones3.1 to 3.9. I cannot feel them but my phone is and its beeping ever time we have one. got it sitting on top of my book shelf as it moves a little when there is a shake.

Maybe I should connect my usb Seismic Monitor up to pc that I got years ago when we have the big deadly quake. mmmm
