E85?

Useful read for understanding how octane numbers are calculated.

Ethanol blend fuel doesn't work in the CFR test method for MON so there are discrepencies as to the octance rating. It's advertised anywhere between 103 and 109 but it's certianly more than hi test (93 octane) gasoline.

Unless you can get race gas for a touch over $4 (using the price of E85 at $3.25), E85 is more economical for anything under 110 octane.

If you're silly enough to build an engine that NEEDS more than 110 octane fuel, you deserve to pay for price for the fuel needed.
