dyes instead of paint

thinkin about changin the color of my blasty, currently red with black tank cover and hood, and stock silver frame and yellow shocks. anyone use a dye instead of paint for plastics?? people use them alot on interriors for vehicles so why not try for fenders?

plus anyone got any good color schemes i could go with?? any idea is appreciated I:I

On the interior of cars do they use the dyes on the plastic or leather/fabric?

plastics on dashes and such, works on all plastics since it bonds into it and doesnt sit on top like paint does, but wanna know if anyone has tried them on fenders yet

This is te first time ive heard of using dye on plastic thats already formed

I just read that you have to put the plastic in near boiling water to dye it if thats right then it might be pretty difficult and might depend on the dye you use

ya youtube it they do it to rc car parts alot i started a thread about it along time ago you just have to find something bigg enough for your plastics and to get warm some how

a guy at work, used some die for plastics, for his interrior on his drag car, all he did was sand it down a little and sprayed on

All the stuff thats dyeable for my baja comes in white.

^^ on youtube it says that it can dye stuff darker but not lighter which is understandable but im trying it on nerf nets that are blue when they get here next week

if you dye them black it might if you get the water hot enough and use the right stuff

i did my nerf nets looked really good tell it dried then didnt look very black
