Clutch question

I am rebuilding my engine and I noticed that the inner clutch basket is hard to spin. I just want to know if that is normal and or it will be ok when I go to start and ride it? Hope someone can help.

Spinning the inner should be spinning gears, either tranny or engine, i forget which. Which would be understandable to not be that easy

Check for grooves on the outer basket

If I just spin the inner without clutch plates and in neutral. Sorry that's what I meant. Should the inner still be hard to spin

Yes. I followed exactly l, double checking everything and it is still hard to spin.

Never mind thanks for the Ideas. The bearings were to tight so I lightly tapped with a mallet and now is easy and smooth to spin
