chain & sprockets

i have a 1999 blaster pretty much stock would loke to upgrade a few things what do i look for in a new chain and sprockets? would like a little more pep

what kinda change do you want to make bigge front will give u more top end but take away from take off smaller front will add bottom end power but take it from the top smaller back will add some top but to some take off and bigger back will add take off but take from the top

i just dropped my tire size 3 sizes and then went with 14/40
